Discipleship

God's written word (the Bible) states that the nonbeliever has been trained to think in the ways of the world. Once believers in Jesus Christ, we need to be changed or transformed by the "renewing of our minds" by HIS word. Romans 12:2 states, “...and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” NKJV

In Colossians, the apostle Paul also admonished the Christians (believers in Christ): "As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him." (Col 2:6) In the following verse, he challenged them to be "rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving."

One of the many tools we use at El Camino Christian Fellowship in our Discipleship training is the Navigators 2:7 book series. This is a 30 week, 3 book course (3 ten week sessions) that encompasses various disciplines, such as spending half days in prayer, giving your personal testimony and knowing how to lead others to the Lord.

Do you know what to say when someone asks why you believe in God? You'll learn how to respond to those questions and many others as you grow in the knowledge of HIS word. Before long, you will find yourself able to even lead others in discipleship training!

Join us as we begin the Navigator's series again with Book 1 entitled, “Growing Strong in God's Family."

*Student Statements after completing the course:

"Our family has gone through all three books in the 2:7 series. These books have helped us to grow in our understanding of God and his mission for our lives. I know better how to share the Gospel with others and have a better understanding on just what it is I believe and why."

"This series is very in depth and takes a lot of work, but the outcome of what you learn about your walk with the Lord and how to help others come to know Him is worth everything!"

"No other study series has had the impact like this one! Watching people grow in their walk and their sense of excitement resulting from this series is a blessing that keeps repeating."

"We have used the 2:7 series since 1975, and expect to continue as long as the Lord opens doors for disciples who continue until 2Tim. 2:2 takes place. We have looked at several series, but they do not establish discipline or vision like the 2:7 series does!"
